I’m deep in a Gilmore Girls binge this afternoon. Actually, to be honest, this binge has been going on for nearly two weeks. I don’t mind who knows, but I am loving living part of my life in Stars Hollow with two quick-witted, overly-caffeinated ladies and the rest of the quirky cast. I’m surfacing for just a little while to make a big batch of quinoa, lentil and roasted vegetable salad for lunches this week and let you know all that I have to be grateful for this week in my Nourished Life Gratitude List 2016 – Week Forty-Eight. This week Chris and I went out for a fun date on Tuesday night. We had a lovely dinner at The Charming Squire in Southbank and then headed into the performing arts centre to watch Mr Bill Bailey in his latest touring production: Larks in Transit. Hilarious, folks. I laughed so hard that I gave myself the hiccups. I am grateful that we got to enjoy a date on a weeknight and have some laughter therapy!
This week I slowed down on my running, but by Saturday my legs were feeling the need to get out and run! I popped on one of my favourite podcasts and an hour later I had covered 9km. My whole body felt wonderful and I was grateful to get out and use my legs and enjoy my run in the fine afternoon light. On Saturday night Caroline and I went to see a movie and have sushi for dinner. It was great fun to catch up on our weeks and enjoy a film together. We have been going to the same sushi bar and cinema for nearly ten years now for our girl dates, and Caroline and I have been best friends for nearly twenty years. I am grateful to have a friend who has walked by my side for so long through all the ups and downs of life. On Sunday I joined Jess, Trent, Mum and Trent’s Mum (hi Anne!) for my first trip to Costco. Boy is that place overwhelming! I didn’t manage to get too much useful stuff because I had no idea what I was in for, and because our house is so small that buying in bulk is not convenient. I was grateful for a morning of laughs over bulk buy purchases and time with my family.
On Sunday afternoon I spent some time studying, and baking some Christmas cookies to share with you in the first week of December. I also made Chris a roast chicken for dinner, which is my favourite thing to make for him on a Sunday night. I am grateful that I can show my love for him by making him his favourite dinners.
Now, I’m going to return to my Gilmore Girls and ‘Fight Like a Girl‘ combo with a side of puppy patting, green tea, and m&ms (I bought a whole kilogram at Costco!). Tell me dear readers, what are you grateful for this week?
