Happy New Year everyone!
2016 just got real. I was back at work today riding my trusty desk through the wild west of the corporate world taming every spreadsheet and report in my path. So tonight, to ease myself into the bright fluorescent-lit world again, I am taking a moment to digest 2015 and set some intentions for 2015.
2015 was an amazing year for me. I’ve read so many other people’s blogs or Facebook comments that are filled with relief that 2015 is over and hope that 2016 will bring a brighter dawn. I’m in a different camp. I have gone to bed every night since New Year’s Eve hoping that 2016 will be just as awesome as 2015 was, and fearing that nothing could be as wonderful as the milestone-packed year we had.
Just a few highlights from the year:
It was an awesome year and now I’m just a little afraid that 2016 can’t possibly be any better. So, my intention is to remember that we create our own futures, our own joy, and our own adventures. I can create the ultimate 2016 if I just remember to take it into my own hands and take responsibility for how I live the minutes and hours and days of this year: to set an intention to be intentional about how I use the time in these 366 days.
Instead of setting goals this year I am setting intentions that will be guided by my mantra for 2016:Have courage to pursue my goals, to make leaps and take chances and kick some booty. And, to be kind in thought, word, and action both towards others and towards myself.
Dear 2016, I hope you are just as good as 2015 (even better would be nice). Let’s get this wild rumpus started!
